Nautical Equipment

Nautical science is the science and study of navigating a ship, of shipping and its aids. The ancient Egyptians were already traveling by ship 4000 years ago. Other peoples also traveled thousands of kilometers by sea to foreign lands. So seafarers needed orientation aids early on.

Modern technical aids such as radar and satellite technology have long since overtaken astronavigation in commercial shipping. Thanks to the continuous development of navigation and communication technology, commercial shipping has become increasingly reliable, faster and safer. To ensure that these technical aids on board continuously guarantee smooth logistical operations, flawless functionality is required.

As a long-standing partner to the marine industry, we supply a comprehensive range of this equipment. We meet the special requirements with technically mature products that have been developed to meet the high standards.

Safety Equipment

After the sinking of the "Titanic" in 1912, the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) was initiated and continuously developed. In addition to minimum standards for the construction, equipment and commissioning of ships, SOLAS also sets the framework for a mandatory safety management system on board via the ISM Code, among other things.

Every shipping company that operates ships that are subject to the requirements of the ISM Code must establish a safety management system. The equipment on board must be continuously maintained, inspected and, if necessary, replaced to ensure that the protection provided by sea rescue, fire extinguishing and other hazard prevention systems can be technically complied with.

Electrical Equipment

The on-board network for the electrical power supply on ships is an island network, which is usually fed by ship diesel engine generators, shaft generators or, more rarely, smaller turbo generators. Once the electrical energy has been generated, it is distributed and used via a complex network of switchboards and cables.

The installed electrical power of larger ships and offshore installations in particular has increased considerably over the last 20 years. On the one hand, ever larger ships and offshore installations are being built, so that the demand for electrical energy for normal ship operation alone has increased. The variety of electrical systems and technical aids on board is enormous and will continue to increase due to the constant further development of the equipment required.

As a long-standing partner to the marine industry, we supply a comprehensive range of electrical equipment and services for all marine applications, including equipment testing and classification approval.

Deck Equipment

Modern ships are technically more complex than any other means of transportation. Ship operating technology is an umbrella term for all technical equipment, systems and devices on board seagoing vessels and offshore installations. This includes not only the propulsion and steering of a ship, but also all the technical systems and auxiliary deck equipment with their extensive application specifications.

Very special conditions prevail at sea, which place high demands on the corresponding ship operating technology. The deck equipment plays an important role in ship operation. Not only electrical and hydraulic systems are the focus of this technology, but also many small aids. These range from loading aids, conservation and supply equipment to fastening and ship installation systems and accessories.

As a long-standing partner of the marine industry, we supply a comprehensive range of ship operating technology for all deck systems and auxiliary equipment with corresponding equipment testing or classification approval.

Engine Room Equipment

Every larger ship and offshore installation has several engine rooms. On smaller ships, the number is usually limited to two engine rooms (main engine room with generators) and bow thruster. The arrangement varies greatly depending on the type, design and size of the ship. They include the respective location for the main engine, generator, separator, boiler, steering gear, emergency fire pumps, emergency generators and the engine control room.

As the list suggests, there are a large number of technical units and systems at these locations. Of course, this also includes many associated auxiliary systems, instruments, flexible equipment and also structural fixings.

We understand the need and importance of this diverse equipment. That is why we ensure that our customers' needs are met with the best and highest quality products. That's why we supply equipment from all major brands in the industry through fast and cost-effective delivery to any location worldwide.
